Category Order and Taxonomy Terms Order Plugin

The plugin allows you to drag-and-drop your categories into the order you feel is most important. Its a super easy to use plugin and the basic version is free and covers most users requirements. Install The Plugin

Start by going to “Plugins” > “Add New” from your WordPress admin dashboard.

1. Using the plugin search form enter Category Order and Taxonomy Terms Order
2. Locate the “Category Order and Taxonomy Terms Order” plugin
3. Click > “Install Now”
4. Validate any prompts
5. Once installation is complete click > “Activate”

Begin Sorting Categories

1. In you admin side bar under “Posts” you will have a new menu item.  Click > “Taxonomy Order”
2. Start dragging and dropping as needed
3. Click the “Update” button
